I have been dancing for about 6 years now. I am a costume designer and seamstress in my "spare" time, and do alot of our troupes graphic design as well.
A year and half ago my dance partner Heather and I left our old mainly cabaret troupe to start Darkly Divine. Until seeing BDSS in 2004 we didn't even realize Tribal Fusion existed! And I only heard about Tribal, more in reference to the traditional ATS costuming then anything else.Our interest was peeked to say the least. We have gone on to study other ethnic dance styles along with continuing our training in Tribal Fusion and ATS , and incorporate fire, vaudevillian, and gothic flavors to our dancing.
She and I co-direct Darkly Divine, and our student troupe Raksat. We have began working with another regional tribal troupe Banmala on dance shows held in Norman, OK, first of which was Les Danses De Casbah , and have bigger and better plans for future shows and workshop ideas to showcase not only bellydance but other performance arts.
