I am half of the Oakland based duo, Raks Africa. We enjoy challenging what bellydancers are supposed to look like. I have been bellydancing since 2003. Our style is a mix of Egyptian, Tunisian and Moroccan dance. We've performed at baby showers, as well as major venues like the Femme Conference, Desert Dance Festival and Cafe Bellie. As members of the Bellydancers of Color Association, we are proud to be a part of a long tradition of embracing our femininity, culture and power through Raks Sharki…..Bellydance!
