Tribe Refugee Bellydancers

Welcome Tribe Refugees!

In light of all the inter-belly drama I have been witnessing the past few months I think it is important for us to stop a second, get off our high horses, get rid of the power trips, and recognize the beauty each dancer has to offer.

I love all forms and styles of bellydancing and my way of giving homage to that is my collection of pictures of some of the most beautiful dancers I have had the pleasure of seeing perform, those classic dancers whom I wish I would have seen, and those dancers who I hope to see in the near future (from cabaret to tribal and every style in between).

If you have seen my profile then you know what my tribute looks like. If you would like to be included please let me know and I will be happy to add you.

Let's try and remember why most of us starting dancing.

Cool invitation Shalini! YES! Count me in. And thank you for the sentiment ... Dance gives people something of value ... beauty, enjoyment, inspiration ... sometimes I must remind myself to focus on the GIVE not the GET. LOL is it egoic to want to be in the tribute? Oy!

Thank you for being my ning friend and perhaps we will even meet face 2 face someday ...

cheers,
Natasya

Amen Sistah!
I have to say I have seen my fair share of belly-drama the past year and am so tired of it.
I think dancers need to tone down the diva-ness and realize that not everyone has the same "vision" of the dance they may have.
Every dancer has something exciting to bring to the dance floor.
I often wonder if other dance forms are just as catty??? Or better yet....are other performers catty >> Like, do clowns in a circus get into drama-momma-fights????

Cattiness I think. But the drama will never stop. It is how we deal with it.
