Well thats it Tribe is gone! I cant believe after all these years. I feel as though I have lost a Friend. Indeed I have lost many friends. There I was this morning trying to get onto Tribe after the down time this weekend to find the page no longer exists. I googled tribe and there on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribe.net In black and white "As of September 5, 2008, www.tribe.net no longer exists."
They are resetting. There is a news article on line from CEO.. says after all the changes in the buy out and transformations, loss of employees [there is only 1 now.. the ceo] he is working to reset it and does not say anything about shutting down. i have watched it over the last few days and have seen it up - down - posts only from March.. then June.. then August... think if we are just patient it should be fixed soon and I believe all will be restored as it was pre crash. The only thing that should be missing is the data from the reset day and that should be yesterday.
I think folks are being very patient. I know I am. I moved on and as someone else said (I think Elle?) ... I'm long over it all. Tribe is great and all, but it's not the end all/be all of the bellydance universe.
Okay, I think I've finally had it...after all the problems with Tribe, lately...now none of the different tribes will load. I've retrieved everything that I feel like I want to keep, so I'm done with Tribe, for good!!!
It was working fine for me for a while and then it stopped working. I can see the home page but then, when I try to click on a specific tribe, I go on a loop that ends in me forcing the page to close. :(
Any tribe that starts http://tribes.tribe.net/INSERT_TRIBE_NAME_HERE will load. If it starts http://TRIBENAME/tribe.net it won't load. Its a server issue so they are obviously still fixing things.

snatched this from someone on tribe who snatched it from another tribe (apparently it's from Darren):
<<As of this writing, it looks like I will not be leaving tribe.net. I can't talk about it now past that, but let's just say that the drastic action I took (resigning) got Mark Pincus' attention and action in a big way. I wouldn't have resigned if I didn't think it would help tribe, and I'm sure all will become clear in the weeks ahead. >>
soooo things might ACTUALLY be getting better!! :)
