Goodbye Tribe RIP

Well thats it Tribe is gone! I cant believe after all these years. I feel as though I have lost a Friend. Indeed I have lost many friends. There I was this morning trying to get onto Tribe after the down time this weekend to find the page no longer exists. I googled tribe and there on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribe.net In black and white "As of September 5, 2008, www.tribe.net no longer exists."

Well, it saddens me. I don't know if Tribe is gone for good or not. If it comes back, will anyone go back? That's the other fear I have.

I just went to the link and I don't see anywhere that Tribe no longer exists, but maybe I missed it, but I looked pretty thoroughly.
If it is, I'm really happy I printed out my blog entries... but really sad it's gone.... hopefully it is just another blip in its host, and set up issues.

It's been down for me, since about 9:00pm - and I don't know if it's coming back or not. I started to prepare myself for this a while ago though. I hope others have been doing the same!

There are groups and discussions and this and that and more. I just havent had much time to "delve" into it all =)

not really, except for printing out my blog... which i did for totally other reasons.... however, when/if Tribe comes back, i am going to start moving my pics over and my blog entries etc.... so at least i will have that part.
Shame really, as there were a lot of threads with interesting content, plus the fun banter.... so let's hope it makes it way back to the light of day.... and night ;)

Well, as of now it says they are performing site maintenance and the site will be up two hours ago.
It did come online briefly a half hour ago but I was unable to log in and got error messages. That leads me to believe that they went live to test their repairs and went offline again to fix the issue. I have most of my blogs backed up here except for perhaps the last months worth but haven't had a chance to get my photos all backed up. That'll be my next project when Tribe is running again.

That said, I would hate to see Tribe go belly up for good. Ning is ok as a backup, but I hate the interface here and find it very difficult to navigate, unlike Tribe where I can see at a glance which tribes have new postings. Its far more intuitive over there, and there is such a wealth of useful and entertaining back postings. At least with all the issues I do have alternate contact information for most of my nearest and dearest Tribe family. Losing you all would be horrible.
