Unmata are amazing

Hey all...had the chance to do a workshop with Amy & Kari from Unmata at the weekend and if you ever get the chance you must...they were amazing. There enthuasium and energy is amazing. If you get to see them live you it is a real must!!!

I just love there style...they have really brought the dance into the present day... it is truely modern and could well be excepted with in a music video etc...Oooh imagine them in a video for someone really hip and real. They would be sensational. I've been browsing You tube tonight and what i've seen of them is amazing. I would really love for them to be seen in the 'uk dance scene' there energy rivals what V-tol has in it's day... I hope all of the troupe make it to the uk one day. I would love to go and spend some time at their studio taking classes! Think i might need to action that plan!

i have done a couple workshops with them. they go to my instuctors retreat every year. they are soooo fun. and such a work out!!! the first time i did the work shop i thought i lost 5 lbs in a five min. workshop.oh but it was great fun. Amy and her girls are sooooo talented. and they are suck nice people. i love to watch them perform. last year at retreat they did a fire bellydance show for us! AHHH that was the COOLEST thing ever. ffire balls, fire hoolahoop, fire jumprope, and amy dance with fire on her head. i tell you it was the coolest thing ever! they danceed while doing the fire balls and the other stuff. i wish i had it on a video. but much agreed, you get a chance to watch or dance with untmata, DO IT!

OMG UNMATA kicks major ASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! I took their workshops recently in Seattle with Amy and Shelly and I can not believe I made it through out te whole thing!!!! Those omis!!!!! ohhhh the omis...............

The fire show the night before was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!! Amy even brought the whip!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait till february when they are back to Seattle for more awesome workshops!

Unmata is awesome...taken a few workshops with Amy. She is a great dancer and super lady! Looking forward to them coming back to Colorado in April.

i do agree they are awesome! they are going to be in vancouver b.c. on my birthday...it must be a sign i have to get there to see them!

I can see that they might not be to everyone taste but the energy and rawness of there performance is what i find so inspiring and they do it because they love to chalange themselves. Thery are coming back to the UK in March and cant wait to study with them again :)

I can't wait! Amy is coming to NE next month and I get to take two workshops with her - I've been wanting to do this since Tribal Cafe in '06 (family reunion prevented it).
